Share your environmental success stories, and learn about our latest initiative with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). Dr. Hartwig Kremer, UNEP Senior Expert for water and Air Quality will introduce the ESRAG & UNEP Handbook and its resources that are being made available to our Rotary family. Our forum will also address concerns from Rotarians worldwide and will include a Report from COP 24, addressing Plastics Pollution, Offsetting our Carbon Footprint, Connecting with Nature, and lots of time for interaction with your ESRAG colleagues.

Lakefront Breakout Action to End Plastic Soup (Side Event)

LocationHamburg Center at the Jungfernstieg - Binnenalster Lakefront. 10 minutes from the Convention center: U Bahn, Bus or Train (S-Bahn), stop at Jungfernstieg. Look for the Rotary Pavilions in front of you at the lakeside.


Sponsored by the Rotary Amsterdam and Hamburg clubs. Come to the End Plastic Soup initiative.  Work up a thirst and appetite at this short service event, and then join ESRAG for Trinken und Talkin' mit ESRAG, immediately following.


Trinken und Talkin' mit ESRAG

Cost – $35 US Rotarians, $30 US Rotaractors

Registration includes drink tickets for German beer and/or wine, water, tea, apple juice and vegetarian appetizers.

ESRAG’s evening program will include German beer and wine, appetizers, music, videos and the inauguration of our first Environmental Champion Award.   Our goal is to create an atmosphere where we can all unite and find ways to help Rotary realize its role in environmental stewardship.

Session Description:
Be inspired by several of the Rotarians and Rotaractors honored last November by President Barry Rassin as Rotary's People of Action: Young Innovators during Rotary Day at the United Nations in Nairobi, Kenya. These young leaders, all under the age of 35, have been recognized for their commitment to solving emerging challenges in new ways with measurable and lasting results, helping to connect local issues with global concerns.

The Power of Fellowships and Rotarian Action Groups

Session Description:

Explore how you can deepen engagement and build membership through Rotarian Action Groups (Action Groups) and Rotary Fellowships. Our panel will discuss how Action Groups and fellowships support projects, build networks, and provide leadership opportunities. We will also demonstrate how you can use My Rotary and social media to network with Rotarians worldwide who have similar interests and vocations.
