Rotary's Councils Are How Rotarians can Influence How Rotary Is Governed

The Council on Resolutions meets on an annual basis.  Proposals must be submitted by June 30 each year.

The Council on Legislation meets once every three years.  It's upcoming meeting is April 4-8, 2019.

Each district has a voting representative.

Find out who your representative is and initiate conversations about resolutions that are meaningful to you.

Draft and propose your own resolutions.  Team up with other Rotary clubs and districts.

Here are three proposed enactments that deal directly with Environmental Sustainability.

  1. Proposed Enactment 19-03:  To Amend the Standard Rotary Constitution
  2. Proposed Enactment 19-13:  To Amend the Constitution of Rotary International and the Standard Rotary Constitution
  3. Proposed Enactment 19-16:  To add a fifth part to the Object of Rotary

These changes have been proposed by District 1730 (France), by Districts 1660, 1700, 1760 (France) and finally by the Rotary clubs of Haenertsburg, District 9400 (S. Africa, Mozambique, Botswana.)

Additionally, Proposed Enactment 19-67 may be considered as it calls for removal of the publication and subscription requirement for the official magazine and the regional magazines due to digitalization.  This proposal was submitted by Rotary Club of Parys, District 9370, Lesotho and South Africa.

The resolutions will be taken by the Council on Legislation which is scheduled to meet from April 4-8 in Chicago.
